History
Built at the same time as the monastery, or quite possibly earlier, the sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady was a destination for thousands of pilgrims, mostly from Provence. For at least last 850 years, the faithful have climbed up the Montagnette to pray to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The innumerable plaques and messages of thanks bear testimony to the grace received.
Once venerated as Our Lady of Frigolet - Nostra Domina de Ferigoleto" - the Blessed Virgin Mary is invoked from the 17th century on as Our Lady of Good Remedy - Notre-Dame du Bon Remède or Nostra Domina de Bono Remedio. It is during this time that the 12th century chapel was adorned with the sumptuous Baroque decor we still admire.
Every day prayer intentions for the Blessed Virgin Mary are carried by members of our community to the Our Lady chapel, mornings especially. At 8:15, following the Chapter meeting, friars enter into the chapel in procession singing the prayer of St. Bernard: Salve Regina. The community then prays to Our Lady of Good Remedy and for those who have confided their prayers.
In addition, every evening at 5:30pm during rosary intentions are again said to the Blessed Virgin, with special attention given to matters concerning religious vocations.
Opening hours: from 8 am to 11 am and from 2 pm to 6 pm
